SPOT FESTIVAL presents: Spot on Folk Music!

The spot light is on Danish folk music when ROSA-folk invites a mix of fans and a special invited audience of people from the international media and music industry, to enjoy a night of four fabulous folk bands.

It all takes place April 30th at the annual showcase and music conference, SPOT Festival in Aarhus, during the weekend April 28th – May 1st, not to be confused with the Folk Spot Denmark showcase, which is happening at Tønder Festival in the last weekend of August.

SPOT FESTIVAL in Aarhus is focusing on rock, pop and electronic music, but on this special Saturday evening, four Danish folk bands will be showing the audience how traditional music is being explored and developed into new sounds and expressions.

The four bands are Ida Wenøe & The Silver Cords (www.idawenoe.net), Jansberg (www.jansberg.com), Elof & Wamberg (www.elofwamberg.dk) and Barrow (www.barrowsongs.com), who, in each their way, are inspired by traditions and musical roots.

SPOT på Folkemusik is going on at the Atlas, a venue that normally presents jazz, rock and world music concert, and has room for an audience of about 300 individuals.

Everybody wearing a SPOT-wrist band get in for free, and seperat tickets can be bought in the door for 100 kr. a piece.

Several other Danish folk bands will also perform at the festival, including Northern Assembly, Mallebrok with rapper Per Vers and more.

If you are from the media or music industry, and would like to visit SPOT Festival, please contact rasmus@rosa.org for more info, right now.
